E-CLASSES FOR GIFTED AND TALENTED KIDS

I believe systematic work on math problems is essential in developing interest and talent in mathematics.

Each Monday students receive a unit with 20 problems to solve. All of them have answers/solutions. The unit delivery way is virtual. Students are encouraged to investigate the math challenges, look for and articulate patterns, and sometimes make "best shots" that are called intellectual guesses.  Your child may greatly benefit from your guidance and assistance and be successful in comprehending mathematics.

In the elementary grades, gifted learners still need to know their basic facts. If they do not, don't hold them back from other more complex tasks, but continue to work concurrently on the basics. Calculators can be used as an exploration tool to solve complex and interesting problems. Younger kids may not know division or even multiplication table yet but they may have a good grasp in solving logic problems.

The weekly problems give students a chance to show what they have learned at school and use it in a real challenge task. Solving a particular unit problem often need concepts from several branches of mathematics, allowing a child to see how a variety of ideas relate to each other. It often requires different way of understanding, creativity, accomplishment and include concepts beyond the basics. They emphasize open-ended problems with multiple paths to solutions. Kids may want to design their own ways to find the answers to complex questions. Gifted students can discover more than we think is possible.

All classes are different and are design to have easier and more difficult math problems.
